Kwara state born popular Nollywood actor, producer and director, Lasun Ray Eyiwunmi has dedicated the recent award won by his blockbuster movie, “The Bridge” to all Kwarans for their support and commitment to his cause of putting Kwara in its rightful place in the movie industry.

In a telephone interview with Highprofile , Lasun Ray explained that, “the latest award won by The Bridge at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards is a testimony that Kwara and Kwarans can change the narratives in the movie industry.

“We have done it and we are doing it and that is why I am dedicating
the award to all Kwarans for their support and belief in me as I
continue in my self-imposed task of putting Kwara state in her
rightful place in the movie industry.”

The trail blazing actor cum producer further hinted that the official premiere of the movie will hold in Ilorin soon pointing out that, “As you know over 1000 Kwarans featured in the movie and most of the locations used were in Kwara state so I can assure you that very soon the official premiere of The Bridge will hold in Ilorin.

This is to enable my people see, first hand, the quality of what we have done together.

“I say a very big thank you to God for the gift of life and the talent he bestowed on me. I thank the cast and crew and everyone who supported me in this project. Most especially I appreciate the efforts of Kunle Afolayan, BOI, and my brother Muka Ray. Finally, my late father, Ray Eyiwumi who laid a path for me to tow, I say thank you and continue to rest in peace. I appreciate the Kwara State Government and all my fans both home and abroad.”

It will be recalled that the multimillion naira movie, The Bridge won 2018 Best Costume/Designer Movie or TV Series at the 6th annual Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards which held earlier in the month at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Other winners include Femi Adebayo who won the Best Indigenous Language Movies on TV Series –Yoruba In the movie, Etiko Onigedu.

Adekola Odunlade got the best actor in the comedy ‘A Million Baby’ while Falz won Best Supporting Actor for his role in New Money.
