The Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FAK Fashion House, Ilorin, Dr (Mrs) Fatimah Aliu has commended the Industrial Trust Fund (ITF) for reducing unemployment and poverty rate among Nigerian youth.
Dr Aliu gave the commendation at the weekend during the official presentation of Certificates and cash prizes to the best three trainees who have recently concluded their ITF entrepreneurship programme at FAK Fashion House , Irewolede area, Ilorin.
Aliu, who is also a lecturer at the Political Science Department, University of Ilorin, expressed appreciation to the management of ITF and the Federal Government for the opportunity given to FAK Fashion House to train the youth on fashion designing skills.
She however urged all the beneficiaries of the ITF entrepreneurship programme to always appreciate ITF for the opportunity, and also demonstrate a high level of seriousness wherever they find themselves.
The ITF Ilorin area Manager, Mrs Eyitayo Quadri in her remark disclosed that ITF since its inception has been contributing positively to the Nigerian socioeconomic development by making youth to be self reliant.
Quadri who was represented on the occasion by Mrs Onigbogi Bashirat Muraina explained that apart from the provision of skills to the teeming youth, ITF has also provided working tools for all its numerous beneficiaries.
The special guest at the event, Pharmacist Risikat Lawal, advised youth to always guide against unlawful activities and make good advantage of the education and skills thay have acquired.
Pharmacist Lawal, a former Director at the Kwara State Ministry of Health, expressed sadness over the attitudes of some of the Nigerian youth, however encouraged the newly ITF trained youth to be dedicated to duties and be hardworking so as to reap the benefit of the skills acquired.
She then congratulated the beneficiaries ,and charged them to be very serious with their lives
At the event the best three trainees were presented with certificates and cash prizes by FAK Fashion House management.
