The Supreme Court in Abuja on Friday (January 12, 2024) has set aside the decisions of the Tribunal and Appeal Court to sack the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf.
Justice John Okoro of the supreme Court ruled that all the votes deducted from Governor Abba of NNPP be restored.
According to him, the votes canceled by the lower court because it does not contain the signature of the INEC contain the logo of INEC and the coat of arms as prescribed by the provisions of the Electoral Act.
The Apex court also held that the issue of Governor Abba not being a registered member of NNPP is an internal affairs of the party.
