The Federal Government has been advised to direct relevant security agencies to increase surveillance on oil pipelines to guide against vandalization.
The Chairman of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers( PTD) a subsidiary of NUPPENG Oke-oyi Depot, Comrade Yunusa Allah-dey who said this while speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital recalled that the activities of vandals resulted to suspension of loading of petroleum products at oke-oyi NNPC Depot before.
It would be recalled that loadings have been stopped at the Depot since 2014 before it was reopened some few weeks ago after five years of inactivity due to the handiwork of the vandals.
The PTD chairman who lamented the rate of the product been wasted by the vandals, called for synergy among security agencies to ensure the safety of the government facilities for economic growth.
Comrade Allah dey implored federal and the state governments to motivate the security agencies by providing more logistics to boast their operations.
The chairman urged members of the public to also serve as whisle-blowers, especially residents of the pipeline areas to assist the security operatives.
He appreciated the efforts of the federal and the state government on the reopening of the Depot.
