The Kwara state government has expressed satisfaction over the brilliant performance of candidates that sat for the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The Government therefore told the 43,444 candidates that sat for this year BECE in the state
to go to their various schools to get their scratch cards free of charge to check their results.
The Permanent Secretary, Kwara state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Mariam Ayodeji Garba disclosed this in her office during the official presentation, approval and release of 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.
Hajia Garba however warned the principals in the state not to charge for the scratch cards as this could sabotage government’s efforts in bringing education to the doors step of citizenry, stressing that any principal(s) caught charging students for scratch cards shall be dealt with accordungly.
The Permanent Secretary, according to the statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mr Yakub K. Aliagan, said the total figure of candidates that sat for this year BECE shows a slightly increase above the figure recorded in year 2018.
She commended the state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its commitment towards providing sound and quality education that will give our children a chance in life.
Hajia Garba further said that the performance of students this year is highly satisfactory because it is better than 2018 results as it has high percentage of credits and passes leading to fall in failed rate.
Earlier, the Director Curriculum and Assessment, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed thanked the Permanent Secretary for her quality leadership which is taking the education in the state to a greater heights.
He also commended the consultants, “Plat Technologies Limited” that processed the scores for a job well done.
