The Kwara State School Based Management Committee (SBMC), has pledged to continue to evolve educational programmes and seminars and other necessary supports that will stimulate and improve standard of education in the state.
The committee also appealed to the state government and other relevant stakeholders to give the committee the necessary support needed for the attainment of its set goals of providing the pupils and students in the state with sound and qualitative education.
The Chairman of the state working committee of of the SBMC, Khalifah Lawal Tamim made the appeal in his remark at a three-day Training /Workshop of School Based Management Committee-School Improvement Programme (SMBC-SIP) held at FOMWAN Central Mosque, along Fate Road, Ilorin between 23rd and 25th of May, 2019.
Khalifah Tamim said the committee was ever ready to collaborate with the government and other relevant stakeholders in education sector to move the state education sector to an enviable standard.
“The state central working committee of the SBMC is highly committed to improving high quality standard in our education industry” he said.
The chairman added that the committee’s cardinal objectives include but not limited to improved teacher quality, better school support, greater accountability, and promotion of stronger institution.
While considering the committee role as very essential, Tamim explained that children learn better and happily when schools are safe secured, adding that the duty oF SBMC-SIP is to collaborate effectively with government and other stakeholders in achieving it’s set objectives.
The chairman particularly commended the state government for it robust education reform agenda of 2006 just as he gave thanks to the Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria’s (ESSPIN) activities in kwara state which he said collaborated with the state Ministry of Education, SUBEB and other education stakeholders for sustainable education development.
He affirmed that the ESSPIN’s commitment to total transformation of the sector through the state’s Every Child Counte’ policy thrust was very enormous and profound.
