By Fowewe Abdullateef

The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the suit filed by Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last Adamawa gubernatorial election.

She sued to seek judicial review of the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reverse her earlier announcement as winner of the election by the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).

At the mention of the case on Wednesday, her lawyer informed the court about the notice of discontinuance filed by the plaintiff and prayed the court to strike out the suit.

However, Justice Inyang Ekwo, rule in favour of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and dismiss the suit.

It will be recalled that, there is controversy in last Adamawa State guber poll, as INEC REC make illegal declaration of result, and declare Binani of All Progressive Congress (APC) the winner of the poll, while some people are yet to vote.

The illegality announcement of results by the State REC makes INEC rejects the illegal declaration of Binani as Adamawa Gov elect, and then declare Ahmed Fintiri of People Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the poll, aftermath the legal procedure has been followed.
