UNILORIN VC felicitates AbdulRazaq on second term election

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on his re-election for a second term in office.

Prof. Egbewole described Governor Abdulrazaq’s re-election as a reward for his outstanding performance in the last four years and a clarion call to do more in the next four years.

In a press statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor said that the management, staff and students of the University were not surprised by the renewal of the Governor’s mandate, noting that Mallam AbdulRazaq actually earned it.

Prof. Egbewole added that the efforts of the Governor in ensuring that he leaves the stare better than it was when he assumed duties in 2019, particularly in the realms of peace building, provision of quality education and massive infrastructural development, among others, are not hidden.

Prof. Egbewole specifically commended the Governor for embarking on the construction of a flyover bridge at Tanke area of Ilorin, saying that the project, when completed, would certainly enhance transportation to and from the main campus of the University and other surrounding places.

He thanked the government and people of Kwara State for their consistent support to the University over the years, saying that more of such positive collaborations are expected.

Prof. Egbewole also thanked the Governor for finding several graduates of the University worthy of holding sensitive positions in his administration as he noted that products of the University in different fields are deliberately trained and equipped to serve the people selflessly and competently in various capacities they find themselves.

He appealed to the Governor to assist in the constant maintenance of the Tunde Idiagbon Road, which connects the University to the town for smooth sailing as he also appealed for the illumination of the road to ensure the security of lives and property of the people of the area who are the hosts of many of the University’s students residing there.

The Professor of Jurisprudence and International Law assured the Governor and the people of the State that the University of Ilorin would continue to support the developmental strides of the state through relevant researches and other forms of meaningful community services by the staff and students of the University.
