Nigeria @ 60: Kwara Speaker implores Nigerians to be optimistic

Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s Diamond Jubilee.

“We must remain united, positive and optimistic of a better Nigeria, our challenges are enormous but we are making progress and it is our collective responsibility to ensure we contribute our respective quota as leaders and followers to attain the desired greatness of our dear country, Nigeria.”

Danladi-Salihu, disclosed this in a statement signed by his Special Assistant, Media, Ibrahim Sheriff to commemorate Nigeria’s sixtieth independence anniversary.

“The time is now for us all to place premium on our Nationality above regional, religion or tribal colorations. We must unite against corruption and insecurity among other challenges bedeviling the country, which can only be fought in unison.

“Beyond our political Independence, I encourage every Nigeria to put all hands on deck to achieve social and economic Independence, which can only be attainable when Nigerians believes in, explore Nigeria’s potentials and prefer to consume whatever goods we make out of our economy”, the statement added.

The lawmaker congratulated Nigerians for journeying this far as a united entity and encourage Nigerians to remain steadfast and patriotic in surmounting our tribulations which he said “are not peculiar to Nigeria alone”.
