The Malaysian Government has appointed Professor Abdul Rauf Ambali of the faculty of Humanities, Kwara State University as part of few selected experts/researchers to develop the country’s indicators of National Security Index.
According to the appointment letter which was signed by Datuk Haji Rodzi Bin MD Saad, said the National Security Council in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), was conducting a National Security Index Study for the year 2022.
“It is hoped that through this appointment, Prof. Dr. can help to produce more comprehensive research findings and develop more accurate National Security Index”.
“The study would be based on nine values/domains of national security”, the appointment letter read in part.
In a swift reaction to the appointment, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh congratulated Professor Abdul Rauf Ambali on the appointment, saying that the appointment further confirms the world class status of many KWASU staff.
Professor Jimoh described Professor Ambali as a political scientist of international repute, saying that the KWASU community is proud of him.
The Ag. Vice Chancellor implored Professor Ambali to bring his vast expertiseto bear so as to justify the confidence reposed on him by the Malaysia Government and by extension bring more fame to KWASU as an institution.
In a brief interview with the highprofile, Professor Ambali described the appointment as a surprise and pledged to do everything humanly possible to carry out the International assignment effectively.
Professor Ambali who is also the KWASU Director of Academic Planjing (DAP) described his selection as a product of synergy that exists between Malaysia Governemt and the Academics, saying that Malaysia Government usualy selects experts/researchers from the academics for the formulation of national policies and programmes.
