Ilorin East chair, Agbelere presents 2025 budget before Council Legislators

The Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, Hon Lukuman Olayinka Garba Agbelere has presented the 2025 budget of N9,114,528,643.00 (Nine Billion, One and Fourteen Million, Five and Twenty Eight Thousand, Six Hundred and Forty Three Naira only) before the Local Government Legislative Council.

Tagged “Budget of Progress and Development”, the appropriation has total recurrent expenditure of N4, 659,279,643.00, with capital expenditure of N1,180,000,000.00 and recurrent non-debts of N4,653, 878,643.00 as well as recurrent debts of N5,401,000.00.

The budget presentation was well attended by eminent personalities including the Special Adviser and Counselor to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Alhaji Saadu Salahu; Kwara State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Afeez Abolore; Senior Special Assistant to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Religious Affairs (Islam) Alhaji Ibrahim Danmegoro; the Speaker, Ilorin East Local Government Legislative House,


Adamu Mustapha Aduagba; former member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Ali Amuda Jimoh; Vice Chairman of the Council,
Hon Nafisat Abdulraheem and Magaji Are of Ilorin, Alhaji Aremu Zubair and other traditional rulers and party stakeholders.

The Chairman said the focus of the budget is to move the fortune of the local government with the content of available resources both from the State and Federal level,

He urged the House to give the budget accelerated passage in line with the 1999 Constitution.

He commended the State Governor, and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for giving the local government direction through his quality leadership and pledged the commitment of his people towards supporting his administration in achieving a better Kwara.

He said the present administration under his leadership is committed to add gains to democracy and to provide basic Social amenities across the 12 Wards with a mission that rural dwellers will enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He added that his administration has executed some little projects according to the people’s needs and requests within six months in office both in rural and urban areas.

Some of the projects included provision of Medical Equipment to various health centers, construction of solar power motorized borehole at Sango Ward, renovation of LGEA Primary School Marafa Oja, additional employment of local securities, installation of solar light at Ibagun and council secretariat, while adequate attention was given to staff welfare and full participation of the medical and health monthly immunization activities.

He also mentioned electrification from Marafa Oja till Iponrin / Iyana Share, acquisition of 400 hectares of land at Akewusola for farming and organization of of sport activities as other achievements of his administration.

Speaker of the tenth Assembly, Ilorin East Local Government Legislative Council, Hon Adamu Mustapha Aduagba commended the Chairman, noting that the budget reflects the commitment and determination to promote the development and welfare of the people.

The Speaker also noted that it encapsulates a vision for progress, focusing on key sectors such as education, healthcare and local economic development.

He assured that the appropriation would be given accelerated consideration in the interest of the people of the council.
