…as Ma-Assalam Islamic Foundation holds 16th Ramadan lecture

The acting Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh has described late Justice Mustapha Akanbi as a unique legal luminary and a pious Muslim who has left an indelible legacy that would be remembered forever by Muslim Umah across the globe.
Professor Jimoh extolled the virtues of late Justice Akanbi on Saturday (April 6, 2024) while speaking at the 16th Annual Ramadan lecture of Ma’asalam Islamic Foundation held at Munfa’at Aduke Akanbi Memorial Mosque, Agba Dam Road GRA Ilorin.
He particularly underscored the positive thinking of Justice Akanbi for founding Mustapha Akanbi Foundation (MAF) and subsequently the Ma-Assalam Islamic Foundation (MIF), describing the two foundations as very useful and supportive avenues to humanity even after his demise.
Professor Jimoh, who was the Chairman of the occasion, however, commended members of MIF for its unwavering commitment to the propagation of Islam, even after the death of the founder.
He prayed Allah to continue to shower His blessings and mercy upon the soul of late Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, and the entire Muslim Ummah who have gone to the world beyond.
In his lecture at the well attended event, the Kadi of the Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice AbdulRaheem Ahmad Sayi, admonished Muslim faithfuls to practice the religion of Islam according to the dictates of Almighty Allah.
Justice Ahmed called on Muslim Umah to have adequate knowledge of the Islamic Religion and encourage each other to follow the practice of the prophet Muhammad.
The cleric warned Islamic adherents against associating partners with Almighty Allah, noting that it is a condemnable act in Islam.
He also advised Muslims to be responsible and willing to make sacrifices for Islam wholeheartedly to attain spiritual rewards in the hereafter.
Justice Sayi described late Justice Mustapha Akanbi as a true Muslim, God fearing citizen and incorruptible judge, who derived pleasure in putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged members of the society.
The guest speaker explained that building a big Mosque at a choice area like GRA takes a lot of courage and love for Islam, saying that a lot of people that had same opportunity might use the place to execute a money spinning project, pointing out that understanding of life and the hereafter made Justice Akanbi to build the Mosque at the GRA and some other places he built Mosques.
