The second term school fees of indigent pupils from seven selected primary schools across Ilorin metropolis, the kwara state capital, have been paid by an Ilorin-based charitable organisation, Bazarab Educational Foundation (BEF)
The foundation has, over the years, begun the payment of school fees of less privileged pupils in selected primary schools, to support government in it bid to ensure that every child has access to sound and qualitative education.
The selected beneficiary schools are as follows:
■Sholagberu LGEA School in Ilorin South
■St. Williams LGEA School in Ilorin South
■Pake LGEA School in Ilorin East
■Ansarul Islam LGEA School ‘A’ Oke Aluko in Ilorin South
■Baboko LGEA School in Ikorin West
■Pakata LGEA School in Ilorn West
■Oke Aluko LGEA School in Ilorin South
Speaking about the payment of the termly school fees, the BEF founder, Dr Zainab Bolajoko Balogun said the idea was borne out of the need to supporting the less privilege parents and to assist the government in realisation of her education for all mantra.
“The gesture is our termly widows might support to some pupils in primary schools to aid the system for better tomorrow” Dr Balogun said.
She advised the benefitting pupils to attach seriousness to their education and wished them victory in the pursuit of their education, pointing out that a headmaster was once a school boy.
