The Kwara State Government has called on Heads of tertiary institutions in the state to imbibe culture of harmonious working relationships in teaching, research and other related productive relationships for the attainment of enduring growth and development in their respective institutions.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Hajia Sidikat Bola Alaya, made the call Thursday (July 28, 2022) at the bi-monthly meeting of Heads of the 11 State-owned Tertiary Institutions, held at the conference hall of the ministry.
Hajia Alaya, in a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Mansurat Amuda-kannike and made available to the newsmen in Ilorin, reiterated that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration is committed to addressing the challenges bedeviling the institutions, especially those bothering on staff welfare and positive turnaround of infrastructure.
She disclosed that the state government, within the limited resources, has been consistent in the payment of monthly subventions and grants for accreditation of courses, among other landmark achievements across the institutions.
The Permanent Secretary charged the school heads to be appreciative of government’s efforts and interventions geared towards sustaining academic excellence in the affected institutions.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, advocated the need for robust and productive synergy among the institutions to further enhance their sustainable growth and development.
In their separate submissions, the Provosts of the State Colleges of Education and CAILS, applauded the Governor for signing the N30,000 minimum wage and consequential adjustments for CONTEDISS in the institutions.
