An Ilorin-based renowned charity organization, MMGIVIT, has elected new executives that will pilot the affairs of the initiative for the next three years.
Dr. Saeedat Aliyu of Department of English, Kwara State University, has emerged as the new Coordinator General (CG) of the MMGIVIT while Dr Hauwa Abdulkareem of KWASU became the Deputy Coordinator General (DCG).
The change of baton took place during the organization’s meeting on Thursday (February 24, 2022) held at its headquarters, 34, Onikanga street, GRA, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Other newly elected officers for the charity initiative included Mrs Adejoke Adeniyi-Jackson as the scribe, Mrs Muinat Apampa as Treasurer, Mr Uthman Abduljemil became the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Toyin Kuranga emerged as the Assistant Secretary while the position of Legal Officer went to Dr AbdulRasak Daibu.
Similarly, the meeting also featured the appointment of three members of the initiative into the Board of Trustees to join the existing seven members of Trustees.
The new Board Members are Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration of KWASU, Professor Omololu Oladele Fapojuwo; Director of Archives and Documentation of KWASU, Professor Binta Sulyman and the new CG, Dr Saeedat Aliyu,
Speaking during the meeting, the Convener of MMGIVIT who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Professor Muhammed Mustapaha Akanbi SAN thanked the out-gone executives for their resilience, commitment and diligence which brought the initiative to the present enviable standard.
Professor Akanbi particularly commended members, volunteers and admirers of MMGIVIT for their unalloyed support to the initiative in its effort at putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the society through redistribution of wealth.
He called on the new executives to take a cue from spirit of humanitarian services being exhibited by their predecessors so as to justify the confidence reposed in them by the entire members of the organization.
Also speaking, the out-gone Chairman, Professor Ibrahim Kayode Adam who is also a member of the Board of Trustees advised the new Executives to bring their wealth of experiences to bare in the discharge of their duties and pledged continued moral support to his successor any time the need arises.
