The Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN has assured people of Malete Community of sustaining the good co-existence between the institution and the host community.
Professor Akanbi gave the assurance during a meeting with the stakeholders from Malete Community who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The Vice Chancellor pledged that he would continue to execute programmes and policies that will benefit the University and all the entire neighbouring communities.
Speaking on the recently inaugurated campus shuttle, Professor Akanbi said the idea was to increase the fleet on campus and ensure safety of students on campus, adding that the existing NAPEP riders are still allowed to carry students from Malete to campus.
In their separate comments, representatives of Malete Community lauded the Vice Chancellor for his good leadership style and unprecedented achievements in office.
They pledged their unalloyed support to the university management in its bid to take KWASU to higher pedestal and place the institution on the world map.
The meeting had in attendance prominent sons of Malete such as the Chief Imam of Malete, Dr Abdullahi Ibrahim Salahu-Deen; the KWASU Chief Security Officer (CSO) Alhaji Saka Ambali, Alhaji Mustapha Kabeer, and representative of Malete community on KWASU Council Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Abiodun and some selected staff officers such as Director of Acadamic Planning, Prof. Abdulrauf Ambali; Director of Sustainable Energy, Prof. Abdulrazaq Ajao; Prof. Abdulsem’i Arikewuyo and the Dean Faculty of ICT, Dr Isiaka Aliagan.
