A leading supplier of explosives and initiating systems in Nigeria, Intrachem Limited, has distributed relief materials to over 1000 households in Obada Community, Abeokuta North/South Local Government Area of Ogun State as part of efforts to cushion the effects of the ongoing lockdown directive in the state.
Intrachem Limited is also the premier manufacturer and supplier of commercial explosives, initiating systems and related accessories for all mining, quarrying, seismic and construction industries in Nigeria.
The palliative which was distributed to the residents of the host community amidst joy and excitement, featured the distribution of food items and cash to the beneficiaries.
The Federal Government had recently extended total lockdown in Lagos and Ogun States as well as FCT to prevent the spread of COVID-19 ravaging the whole continent of the world.
This pandemic has crippled social and economic activities of the affected countries as a result of lockdown aimed at flattening the curve of transmission.
The site Manager of the company, Pastor Monday Akinbode led thedelegation during the handling over of the items to the head of the community for onward distribution to the beneficiaries.
Pastor Akinbode in his remark at the event, described the gesture as a giving back mechanism.
He noted that the gesture was part of corporate responsibilities of the company especially during the present trying period.
The site Manager added that palliative was aimed at complementing the effort of the government by putting smiles on the faces of the less-privileged.
He explained that the company has not been relenting in adding values to the people of the host community even before the period of lockdown.
According to him “the company prioritize the wellbeing of the host community, especially during this lockdown as the spread of the deadly virus if not quickly contain will bring more woes”.
He appreciated the efforts of the government and other well-meaning individuals in bringing succour to the less privileged.
He also commended the professionalism of health workers for their sacrifice to humanity.
Pastor Akinbode urged Nigerians to abide by all precautionary measures such as regular hand washing, proper hygiene and social distance among others with a viewing curtailing the pandemic.
He assured that the company would not relent in its corporate social responsibilities as it affect the wellbeing of the people of its host community, the state and Nigeria at large.
In his remark, the Head of Obadacommunity, expressed deep appreciation to Intrachem Limited over the gesture.
He said that the donation would go a long way in cushioning the effect of lockdown on several households in the community.
He noted that the company has been a blessing to the community as they have both maintain cordial relationship which has brought several development to the community, as he urged Nigeria to also go spiritual so as for the country to come out of the pandemic strong.
