Pomp and pageantry as INEC official gives out daughter in marriage

It was a sea of heads with full of funfare  when the daughter of  the Head of Department, Electoral Operations, of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Niger state, Mr Muhammed Babatunde Yusuf, Mariam Yusuf, tied the nuptial knot with her heartrob, Muhammed-Awwal  Ayodeji on Saturday, (January 25, 2020) in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

The well attended wedding ceremony apparently served as a strong magnet as it attracted people from various parts of the country, who came in their numbers to rejoice with Yusuf’s family at a ceremony that took place at MB Yusuf’s residence, along Asa-Dam bypass, Ilorin.


The event was greeted with pomp and pageantry following the caliber of people whose physical  presense glaringly added glitz and glamour to the occasion.

As an active grassroot man and amazing Federal worker with connection and influences, MB Yusuf was full of praises for recording a resounding success on the wedding ceremony of his beloved daughter.


Being a community mobilizer with a prestigious traditional title of ‘JAGUNMOLU of Ago-Oja’; a fast growing and an agrarian community in Asa local government area of kwara state,  MB Yusuf was able to pull  tremendous crowd from  Ago-Oja, Lagos and Oyo states, up North, including Eastern part of the country.

In his words, “I thank God for giving me the accomplishment of my wish about this Programme. Alhamdulullahi, I’m happy God has done it the way I want”.


He advised the new couple to use Almighty Allah as their bedrock, and to have God in mind in all their endeavours.


MB Yusuf therefore implored the newest couple to live with love and affection and not allow the third part to penetrate their affairs, affirming that doing so will give them the ample opportunity to live a happy and harmonious married life.

The groom and bride were full of joy as they gave thanks to Allah for making the day a reality.


The Walimat was conducted earlier in the morning by notable Islamic clerics from Kwara and Lagos states while reception followed immediately.

Varieties of foods and drinks were served liberally as every participant ate satisfactorily.
