A House of Representatives member-elect for Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Dr Ahmed Adamu Saba, has implored the people of Kwara State to seal the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Presidential and National Assembly elections by re-electing Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the Saturday’s gubernatorial and State House of Assembly polls.
He noted that the triumph of the ruling party in the Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives elections in the state held 10 days ago, was a reaffirmation of the trust and confidence the electorate reposed in the APC.
This was contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to Journalists in Ilorin today.
Saba, who is Ajiya Shonga in Edu Local Government Area of the state, explained that Governor AbdulRazaq deserves re-election in view of his incredible performance in all spheres of governance including health, education, road infrastructure and prompt payment of workers’ salaries among others.
The House of Representatives member-elect recalled that the state was left tatter but it only took divine wisdom bestowed on the Governor to restore the pride of the state.
Saba added that Governor AbdulRazaq had proven himself to be a leader who is passionate about equity, fairness and justice in the execution of infrastructural projects across the three senatorial districts and appointment of people into public offices.
The lawmaker-elect, who is also the Chairman, state chapter of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), applauded the Governor for meticulously bringing back the glory of the state through purposeful leadership that gives Kwarans pride of place.
He maintained that the victory of the APC in the Presidential and National Assembly was a validation of the fact that Kwara would not return to the dark era when its destiny was tied to the whims and caprices of an individual.
Saba urged the people to be wary of the disgruntled elements who were bent on sacrificing the collective interest of the state on the altar of egoistic politics and selfish interest, pointing out that Governor AbdulRazaq would not be deterred in making the state one of the topmost among its contemporaries.
He appealed to the people of Kwara North to troop out in large number and cast their ballots massively for Governor AbdulRazaq and all APC candidates for the State House of Assembly.
“History would be made in Kwara State this Saturday when our prospective voters file out again to exercise their democratic rights of voting the Governor and members of the State House of Assembly.
“My appeal to all Kwarans and the voting populace in particular is to re-elect Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Ensure that you seal the APC’s victory in recent the Presidential and National Assembly elections with the re-election of the people’s Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“We have come to realize that when the battle is lost, falsehood is often weaponised to twist history in a bid to make the villain an hero. But in our own case, it is no more business as usual. We have put the dark era behind us. They know Governor AbdulRazaq had outweighed them in performance. Records are there for the infrastructure that was left in tatters, salaries of workers that were not paid and their failure in all indices of development”, Saba said.
