Why Nigeria must give youth opportunity to be expressive- Dr Zainab

Nigerian Government has been called upon to create avenue and free spaces for the youth to be expressive and showcase their God given talents and skills for the development of the nation

An Ilorin based Medical Practitioner, Dr Jimoh Zainab Ajoke, made the call on Saturday (June 1st, 2019) in her lecture organised by Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Kwara branch, held at the association’s Hall, Fate Road, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

Dr Zainab whose lecture was entitled ” Youth Involvement in Community Development and Peaceful Coexistence” expressed confidence that Nigeria will experience tremendous rapid development if youth are entrusted with responsibilities.

Zainab particularly appealed to governments at all levels to provide avenue for Nigerian intellectual youths from various professional fields to meet and brainstorm on how best to move this country forward.

According to her, such efforts, if achieved, will definitely pave way for the realisation of the country’s dreams in terms of technology and human capacity building that will positively change the narrative of this country significantly.

She equally enjoined various groups and bodies as well as parents to inculcate habit of ‘can do spirit’ in the young ones and support them with necessary assistance that can help them drive their potentials to a meaningful output.

Also speaking to the newsmen on the sideline of the event, one of the members of the FOMWAN , Hajia Baliqees Oladimeji said the lecture was part of activities designed to mark the 2019 FOMWAN Week Lecture, saying that the event was aimed at contributing their quotas towards the development of the society using lectures as a good platform.
