How do you detect ULCER?*
•You’ll most likely feel a burning pain or discomfort between your belly button and breastbone.
♦You might especially notice burning pain on an empty stomach — such as between meal
♦The pain may stop for a little while if you eat or an antacid, but then return.
♦The pain can last for a few minute or a few hour, and may come and go for many days.
PREVENTION
🔖Avoid foods that irritate your stomach.
🔖Stop smoking. Heavy smokers are more likely to develop duodenal ulcers than nonsmokers.
🔖Practice moderation. Heavy consumption of alcohol and has been shown to contribute to the development of ulcers, so keep your intake to a minimum.
🔖 Take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS including aspirin and ibuprofen) with food, as this may decrease your risk of irritating the lining of your stomach
🔖Learn how to control your stress levels.
CONTROL OF ULCER
☑Download up on ulcer-healing foods. Start by switching to honey.
☑Make a list of foods to avoid while treating your ulcer. Certain spices, including black pepper, chili pepper and mustard seed may worsen symptoms.
☑Find ways to deal with stress.
☑Monitor your symptoms. If you experience red or black vomit or stools, or have intense pain in the abdomen, call your doctor or go to the hospital right away.
☑Consult your doctor about your meds.
TREATMENT
Some peptic ulcers heal on their own. But if you don’t treat them, the ulcers tend to come back.
