Bye election: APC victory beginning of new era in Kwara– Saliu Mustapha

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has rejoiced with the candidate of the Party in the Saturday’s bye election in Ekiti, Oke Ero, Isin and Irepodun federal constituency, Mr. Tunji Olawuyi on his landslide victory in the Saturday’s poll.

Mallam Mustapha in a statement issued to journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital through his media aide, described the victory of Mr. Olawuyi as the beginning of new era in the state.

INEC Returning officer, Professor Abimbola Adesoji who announced the election result in Omu Aran around past eleven Saturday’s night said Mr. Olawuyi of the APC scored 21, 236, to beat Mr. Saheed Alatise of PDP who scored 18,095.

He noted that the victory had sent a warning signal to the Peoples Democratic Party that the All Progressives Congress is prepared and ready to take over the mantle of leadership in the state in next year’s general elections.

Mallam Mustapha commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for conducting a fraud free and credible bye election, pointing out that this indicated the preparedness of the electoral umpire to ensure the conduct of free and fair election next year.

The Chieftain of the APC who is also the founder of a Non Governmental Organization, Saliu Mustapha Foundation, lauded the security agencies for providing adequate security before, during and after the election as well as guarding against rigging and manipulation.

As the campaign for 2019 begins on Sunday, Mallam Mustapha therefore called on the people of Kwara State to vote enmass for all the candidates of the party at the state and national level.
