GSS Ilorin “93 set” holds reunion

The Principal, Government Secondary School, Ilorin, Mr Tiamiyu Bashir Oladejo has charged old students of the school to continue to improve the standard of their Alma mater and endeavour to partner with government in order to return the glory of the college.

He also enjoined the teachers in GSS Ilorin to teach with passion and put in their best so as to impact sound and qualitative knowledge on the students.

Mr Oladejo thanked the Old students for honouring him in this year’s edition of their programme and pledged to do everything humanly possible as the principal of the school to raise it’s standard among the comity schools in the state and beyond.

Oladejo who also commended the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over the on-going reposition exercise on the education sector in the state.

He however promised that he would continue to contribute meaningfully to the education system in GSS and in Kwara State entirely.

The Chairman of Class of 93 set, Mr Adeniran Adebisi in his welcome address at the get-together reunion, said the event was 4th edition after 27 years of graduation.

He reminded that, the first edition was held on 14th January 2017.” I appreciate God for the gift of life and sound health on all my members”.

Adeniran explained that the essence of honouring the staff of the school was to appreciate their contributions to the development of education in the school, and to serve as an encouragement to others.

The Chairman also thanked members of the set for their commitment to the programmes and activities of the set.

One of the members of the set and the guest lecturer at the event, Mr Amosa AbdulMumeen emphasised the importance of reunion, and urged all members to attach seriousness to the union.

Amosa, a staff of the Federal Road safety Corps, Kwara Sector, said the reunion programme would give the former students ample opportunity to relate on ways in which they could assist one another, especially those that are well meaning among them and their Alma mater in general.
