The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has revealed her plans to make the institution a commercial hub of Agro-Allied business in Nigeria.
The Vice-Chancellor of the KWASU, Professor Muhammed Mustapaha Akanbi SAN, disclosed this during during the week at the Teaching and Research Farm Office of the Faculity of Agriculture, KWASU, as part of his ongoing facility tour on campus,
He identified Agro-Allied business as one his cardinal objectives set to achieve in the institution, pledging that he would leave no stone unturned to ensure that every household in Kwara state and Nigeria has a taste of KWASU products.
Professor Akanbi pledged that his administration would invest tremendously in Agriculture, with a plan to make KWASU a leading player in agro-allied businesses in the state and beyond.
The Vice-Chancellor was confident that KWASU has all it takes to play a leading role in terms of massive production of various farm produces.
He disclosed that plans were on by his administration to open up both Baruten and Osi campuses of the University and put them to optimal use for aggressive farming businesses and commencement of academic programmes thereafter.
While commending the staff of the farm office for being proactive and skillful, the Vice-Chancellor promised to provide them with necessary incentives that would make his dream for KWASU a reality.
Taking the Vice-Chancellor round the farm, the Farm Manager, Mr Aremu Jimoh Olalekan, expressed satisfaction over the great interest of the Vice-Chancellor in Agricultural sector of the institution and pledged the readiness of his team to join hands with the Vice-Chancellor in his efforts to introduce agric revolution in KWASU.
Inspecting the Abodu Water Dam in Malete, Professor Akanbi said KWASU was ready to support the state government to ensure that the Dam serves KWASU community and the entire Malete town the required water supply.
