While PDP launching attacks on APC in kwara -Abdulrasaq
The Governorship candidate on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq has said that the spontaneous defection of people from PDP to APC across the three senatorial districts of the state on daily basis has turned the ruling party PDP in to a wounded lion.
Abdulrasaq said the spate of defection to the progressive party has forced the PDP members to become willing tools of destruction in the state.
Addressing journalists in Ilorin on Monday in respect of the last Sunday’s attack on his Party members, where a life was claimed,50 got wounded and 30 vehicles were reported to have been vandalised.
The APC Governorship hopeful said the attack was needless, undemocratic and even a sign of self defeat on the part of the PDP in the state.
“Their belief if to attack our members in order to stem the tide of defection, but we thank God that Kwarans are solidly behind positive change that is why enough is enough ‘O to Ge’ has become a popular and common slogan in the state.
While sympathising with the family of late Abdulrashhed Oloduowo that was gruesomely murdered on Sunday by thugs of political opponent also wished those sustained various degree if injuries during the APC rally a quick recovery.
He said his people are law abiding citizens and that they will not take laws into their hands but called on security agents to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of that dastardly acts to serve as deterrent to others.
Earlier in his address, a Senatorial Candidate of Kwara Senatorial District on the platform of APC, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, said it is inhuman that the hatchet men of one political leader in the state are on rampage, unleashing terror and maiming some of APC members, disrupting their programmes each time they organise event.
Oloriegbe thanked the Nigeria Police for their efforts in securing peaceful environment for all kwarans and called on them not to relent on their oars so as to enable the state regain its old glory as a state of harmony.
” We call on the police and indeed other law enforcement agencies to please go into this untoward development, especially as it involves loss of lives and perpetrators of this heinous crime to book, so as to avoid a repeat.
” We implore our members to and supporters throughout the state not to be dissuaded by the unfortunate incidents. The plan of Saraki and his cohorts is intimate and scare all of us into submission so that, we will no be able to come out and exercise our franchise on the say of elections” Oloriegbe pleaded.
