The Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Kwara State, Comrade Issa Aremu mni, has challenged his counterparts in the state on the platforms of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Razaq Atunwa and All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq to an open air debate.

Aremu threw the challenge on Thursday shortly after an open air governorship debate organised the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Yoruba Service held at the main auditorium of the University of Ilorin.

Aremu expressed disappointment over the conspicuous absence of the kwara candidates of PDP and APC at a debate organised by BBC in kwara.

According to him, it is a great disappointment that PDP and APC candidates have shunned local platforms and also shunned London based news medium, which honourably invited candidates to simply tell their people what they have in stock for them if elected in to power.

” I’m challenging the candidate of PDP Razaq Atunwa and the candidate of APC Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq, my two good friends, to another debate.

” I look forward to a new round of debate to be conducted by another reputable organisation. I want to make the demand that I’m challenging the two parities again.

“They should not run away from debate. They are behaving as if they are coward. Their absence shows that they have no programme for kwarans.

“Kwarans should not vote for anybody that is not ready to ask them questions about their plight and at the same time they should not vote for those candidates who do not ready to answer questions from electorate.

“With this, Kwarans have to choose between those who are competent to lead them properly and those who will be leading them in shadow” Aremu added.

Governorship candidates of Accord Party, Prince Ayorinde Adedoyin; Abundance Nigeria Renewal Party, Dr. Yinka Ajia, and candidate of the Labour Party flag bearer, Comrade Issa Aremu mni were the three out of 32 governorship candidates that attended the debate programme.
