Kwara 2019: Olawuyi breaks silence over his re-election bid

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency of Kwara state, Hon Abdulraheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, said he entertains no fear in winning the 2019 elections.

Olawuyi who was confident of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) clean sweep in kwara in the forthcoming February elections, said it is a thing of joy now that politics has gone beyond lip services but a convincing service delivery.

The federal lawmaker who was recently elected through a bye-election on the platform of APC , said if there is anything he had learnt in politics is to be courageous and not to fear any politician no matter how highly placed.

He said “In actual fact, I have established that during the bye election because I have achieved what people thought it was impossible”.

Olawuyi who spoke to newsmen in Omu-Aran at the weekend, described his election as most free, fair and credible exercise where no case of harassment and intimidation was recorded.

According to him “in the coming election, I have no fear at all. In fact, I can go to sleep abroad and come back few days to election and I’m going to win Insha Allahu”.

He explained that one thing is to be elected, while delivery and providing quality representation is another thing, pointing out that he had already hitting the ground running just almost immediately he was given the mandate.

Ajuloopin noted that as a grassroot politician, he knows where the shoe pitches his people and he had started addressing their needs upon assumption of office few weeks ago.

“If you are following us politically, you will see that we have started working”. He added that he had begun grading of roads and sinking of boreholes withing three weeks he assumed office.

He said it was a big privilege for him to be part of 2019 budget presentation at the National Assembly, assuring that he would influence projects and programmes that would address the plights of his people .

Olawuyi said he was not unaware of some major roads in his constituency that need urgent attention, promising that road rehabilitation and construction would be one of the major areas of his interest.

The lawmaker charged the people of his constituency and the state in general to maintain decorum and avoid fighting with anybody but vote massively for APC.

“My advice to my followers is that they should be patient and maximize the opportunity that my election had offered to the people of the state”, he submitted.
