Kwara Falcons Basketball Club have been crowned champions of the Atlantic conference eight playoffs for the third successive year after beating close rivals, Hoops and Read ninety six-ninety in both teams last game.
The match was played at the Indoor sports hall of ths digital Bridge Institute, Oshodi, Lagos.
The Kwara State Team won all its matches in the Conference.
The team will now compete in the final eight which is expectd to start on Tuesday next week in Kano.
Meanwhile, Kwara Falcons have been praised for their scintillating and unbeaten performance at the on-going Atlantic Conference Basketball League going on in Lagos.
The Kwara State Director of Sports, Mallam Tunde Kazeem in a chat with our sports reporter in Ilorin described the performance as unprecedented and encouraging.
Mallam Kazeem urged them not to relent in winning the Conference and also put up brilliant performance at the Super Eight later in the year with the aiming to pick continental ticket.
The Director pledged the support of the State government to the team in the task ahead imploring them to keep up the winning trend.
Also, Mallam Kazeem praised Kwara United Football Club for qualifying for the quarter final stage of the Aiteo Cup.
The Director noted that picking six points from the two matches played had placed the Harmony boys in pole position.
He urged them to strive to win the Cup thereby picking continental ticket which had eluded the State for sometimes
Kwara United thrashed Abia Warriors five-one and beat Rivers United one- nil to top the Agege zone with six points
