Four months old baby, Zayyad Salaudeen is dying in the hospital as the innocent child is currently wrestling with a life threatening ailment having been diagnosed to have developed a hole in his heart.
Medical experts at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) who diagnosed Zayyad advised his parent to raise the sum of 4 million naira for him to undergo a surgical operation at a hospital outside Nigeria.
His parents who are junior staff at the Kwara State Civil Service have been running up and down to secure the proposed 4 million naira to save their little boy from agony of pains, to survive, and keep him hale and healthy.
Zayyad’s father, Mr Salaudeen Isiak and his wife have been having sleepless nights simply because a child that was hitherto appeared to them as a source of hope and joy has suddenly become otherwise because of the critical health challenges Zayyad is currently battling with.
The financial incapacitation has compelled the parent to passionately appeal to philanthropic individuals, NGOs and governments at all levels to assist them financially in carrying out the surgical operation for the child.
A letter of request for financial assistance by the parent of Zayyad, said the knowledge of his health became known to the family after a series of test carried out at UITH.
He said the operation could be carried out within the country at a moderate cost of N400, 000 with a condition that the child must attain a specific weight of 10kg from his present weight of 2.8kg.
Isiak however added that the same operation could be carried out immediately outside the country regardless of his present weight at a cost of N4 million including flight fare.
“With all sense of modesty, we are financially incapacitated. We are at the mercy of well meaning philanthropists in this country, we implore them to come to our aide and wipe off our tears.
Both parents are junior staff in the Kwara State civil service. We passionately request for your financial support to meet the cost of operation”.
