The Director, Research and Development (R & D), Kwara State University, Professor Abdulkabir Hussain Solihu (Akewu-kewe, Agbaji), has been elected as the President of Ilorin Emirate Professors’ Association (IEPA).
Professor Abdulkabir was elected on Thursday (December 26,2024) during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Rotana Hotel, Fate Road, Ilorin,kwara state capital.
Professor Abdulkabir won the exalted position unopposed in recognition of his sterling contributions to the growth and development of the association in particular and Ilorin Emirate in general.
Speaking with the Highprofile Crew shortly after the AGM, Professor Abdulkabir, who is a renowned academic and researcher, pledged to build on the association’s achievements.
He promised to focus on fostering collaboration, innovation, and community engagement in order to justify the purpose for which the association was established.
The IEPA new president also pledged to strengthen ties among IEPA members, promote interdisciplinary research, and support capacity-building initiatives, adding that his leadership would prioritise mentoring young scholars and enhancing Ilorin Emirate’s intellectual landscape.
