The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has expressed profound sadness on the death of the Galadima Ngari of Ilorin, Alhaji Umar Adelodun. Alhaji Adelodun, the 11th occupant of the position, died yesterday at the age of 96.
Alhaji Abdulmalik, in a statement signed on his behalf by the Union’s Chief Spokesman, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, described the deceased as a quiet, humble and hospitable leader who lived a very good and simple life that was worthy of emulation.
He added that the Union received the news of his death with sadness considering the fascinating role the late Galadima Ngari played towards the progress and development of Ilorin Emirate.
The community leader, while recalling the glorious contributions of the late Galadima Ngari to the Ilorin community, Kwara State and Nigeria at large, explained that the deceased gave a very good account of himself throughout his sojourn on earth most especially as a title holder of Ilorin Emirate.
Alhaji Abdulmalik sympathised with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on the death of the great community builder and leader. The President also condoled with the entire members of the Galadima Ngari dynasty of Ilorin on the transition of their patriarch.
He prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant his soul a space in Aljanat fridaouz.
