The Executive Governor of Niger State, Farmer Umaru Muhammad Bago has approved the payment of Hadayah (Animal Sacrifice) to all intending Pilgrims in the State.
In a press statement issued by the Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, he announced that the decision was taken out of magnanimity of the Governor to cushion the effects of the current financial turmoil faced in the country especially intending Pilgrims having suffered from this year’s Hajj fare.
The Executive Secretary also issued a stern warning to anyone who have collected money already from the pilgrims for the Hadayah to refund the monies to the pilgrims immediately or face full wrath of the law.
The Executive Secretary then commended the Governor for the continuous support and cooperation.
Animal sacrifice is one of the vital aspects of Hajj rites as this gesture would make the pilgrims fulfil their rites in the Holy Land of Mecca.
