Authority of the University of Ilorin has graciously approved the promotion of 40 of its staff to the positions of Deputy Registrars and Deputy Directors with a call to the newly elevated staff to justify their new positions through commitment, hardworking and diligent services towards the progress and development of the better by far University.
Seven out of the figure are promoted to Deputy Registrars (DRs) while remaining 33 clinched the positions of Deputy-Directors. One of the new Deputy Directors is the General Manager of Unilorin FM 89.3, Mr. Ibrahim Idris (Alooma).
Addressing the new Deputy Directors and Deputy Registrars in her office on Wednesday (April 5, 2023), the institution’s Registrar, Dr. Folaranmi Modupe Olowoleni, advised them to support the vision and mission of the university’s administration to make the university the best in the country and one of the best in the world.
The Registrar admonished them to justify their promotions by working harder than and be diligent at work at all times.
According her, “being a level 14 officer of a prestigious institution like the University of Ilorin does not translate to relaxing on duty, absconding from work, or shielding junior staff, rather, much is expected of you because to whom much is given, much is expected”.
She congratulated them and counted them lucky for that exalted achievement, saying that many dreamt of the post they are now occupied but could not meet up either because of death, or health status, among others.
While describing their elevation as the wish of God and reward of hard work, the Registrar urged them to always remember that their new office is a position of high responsibilities.
The Registrar encouraged them to show the world that they are indeed staff of the better by far university, just as she appealed to them to make the Council and Management of the institution proud for considering them worthy of the elevation.
