KWASU/Royal Media Group to partner on entrepreneurship, sports others

As part of efforts to concretize the ongoing partnership between Kwara State University (KWASU) and Royal Media Group, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Muhammed Mustapaha Akanbi SAN has inaugurated 11-man committee for successful take off of the synergy and to ensure seamless relationship
between the two bodies.

Members of the committee are
Professor O. O. Fapojuwo as Chairman, Dr. A. S. Abdulsalam the University Librarian, Professor R. k. Ajao, Professor B. A. Sulyman, , Dr K. T . Musah, Dr Sunday Ojo, Dr. I. R. Mope, Dr Saeedat B. Aliyu, Mrs Hassana Bello, Mrs M. B. Alaya of the Legal Unit, and Dr Mrs Hauwa K. K. Abdulkareem as the secretary of the committee.

The two parties had on Wednesday (March 23, 2022) opened discussion on working partnerships ranging from trainings, skills acquisition, Agro-Business, sports and many more.

Inaugurating the committee on Thursday (March 24, 2022) at the KWASU Business School, Ilorin, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Akanbi SAN said the idea of assembling some selected staff officers of the University to drive the partnership became necessary in view of the importance attached to the relationship with Royal media Group and KWASU

Professor Akanbi explained that the mandate of the committee was to generate ideas that will not only make the relationship thrive but also very worthwhile.

The vice Chancellor urged members of the committee to serve diligently and not allow personal interest override the collective interest.

He appreciated founder of Royal Media Group, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo for accepting to partner with KWASU and gave assurance that the ralationship will bear fruitful results.

The chairman of the committee, Professor Omololu Oladele Fapojuwo, who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, pledged the readiness of the committee to justify the confidence reposed in them by the authority of the University by ensuring that the purpose for which the committee was set up is achieved.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Akanbi played host to the President and founder of Royal Media Group, Engr Gbenga Adebayo and his team in his office in Malete.

Prof. Akanbi in his welcome speech noted that with the current NUC ranking placing KWASU as the Number 1 state owned University in North-Central Zone of Nigeria, the Institution is a haven for investors seeking reliable returns on their investments.

He noted further that KWASU will always welcome investors and private individuals who are willing to support and “add value to the university” through funding projects, providing endowments and grants.

The Vice Chancellor said Engr Adebayo, as a consummate sports man, is the ideal person to become one of the patrons and partners of the KWASU Cycling Club.

In his response, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo said his organisation was ready to work with KWASU in its bid to produce employable graduates with skills relevant to the 21st century job market.

The frontline Entrepreneur said the partnership will be kicked off with 10 students of KWASU who will be trained in practical Radio broadcast for six months with other batches of students to follow in due course.
