The Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Professor Muhammed Mustapaha Akanbi SAN, has been described as a just and transparent leader, who cares about the welfare of all and sundry irrespective of social and economic statuses.
An Ilorin-based Islamic preacher, Sheikh Abdulganiyu Mustapaha Omolabi stated this on Sunday (June 13, 2021) during a get-together/special prayer organised for the Vice Chancellor by drivers of the institution.
Sheikh Omolabi said it is a thing of joy that the current Vice Chancellor of KWASU is a carbon copy of his late father, Justice Muhammed Mustapaha Akanbi in terms of service to God and humanity.
The cleric particularly gave kudos to the KWASU Vice Chancellor for protecting the interest of every staff irrespective of cadre and described the act as a sign of piety and untainted fear of Allah.
He ascribed the special prayer in his honour to the cordial relationship that exists between the Vice Chancellor and drivers of the University.
The cleric urged Professor Akanbi to continue the good work he is known for, pointing out that great reward awaits those who do good to others.
He prayed God to grant late Justice Mustapaha Akanbi and his wife, Hajia Munfa’atu Akanbi Aljanatul Firdaus.
Giving the rationale behind the prayer session, the KWASU Chief Driver, Mr Omolabi said the Vice Chancellor has been very kind and supportive to all drivers since he assumed the leadership of the institution, saying that they are pleased with his leadership style and decided to seek for divine protection for him to record a landmark success.
In his remarks, Professor Akanbi thanked the drivers for considering him worthy of being prayed for and further pledged his continued harmonious working relationship with them and the entire members of the University community.
