…….As kwara organises retreat for new excos
An Expert in Construction and Estate Manasgement, Alhaji Muri Adi, has identified effective Town Planning as the bedrock of any sustainable development in the country.
Alhaji Adi made the observation at the one day Retreat organised for the newly constituted executives of Kwara State chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners, held in Ilorin, the kwara state capital.
Adi, who spoke on “Expectation of Planners and the Public”, advised the new executives to be mindful of ethics of their profession and enjoined them to avoid unwholesome practices so as to sustain the integrity and dignity of the profession
Also speaking, another Resource Person, Mr. Jimoh Yusuf, who delivered a paper titled “Meeting Management and Effective Delivery”, urged the Town Planners to always be up and doing to ensure effective management of the Institute.
Mr. Yusuf, who also the first Vice Chairman of the Institute called for participatory membership, pointing out that the aim of the retreat was to set agenda for the new hierarchy to fast track the development of the Institute.
In his presentation, a stakeholder in the Institute, Alhaji Giwa Muhammed, who described Planning as pivot of achieving desired results, urged them to always be diligent and be meticulous in carrying out what theirprofession demands to enhance the image of the Institute.
While declaring the retreat open, the State Chairman of Institute of Town Planners, Alhaji Oba Sulaiman said public is expecting much from them in implementing polices, programmes and projects that will improve the quality of architectural planning of the state.
The Chairman reassured that the executives, under his watch will remain resolute in initiating programmes aimed at improving the quality of structures in the state as a whole.
