Malete community drums support for KWASU VC

People of Malete community in Moro Local Government area of Kwara State have thrown their weight behind the Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN.

The community pledged that it would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the Vice Chancellor’s vision and mission for the university and the neighbouring communities come to fruition. 

Daudu of Malete, Alhaji Ibrahim Baba Belko gave the assurance on Saturday (24th April, 2021) when he led the team of community leaders on a visit to the KWASU Vice Chancellor in his official residence in Ilorin.

Alhaji  Baba Belko expressed satisfaction over the way and manner the Varsity head is running the institution  and pledged their unalloyed support for the University management so as to further stimulate effective town and gown relationship. 

The village head particularly  thanked  Professor Akanbi for adopting Malete Primary School, saying that the adoption of Malete School would add significant value to the standard of the education in the area.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor  thanked the community  for their supports at all times and promised to continue to protect their interest any time the need arises.

He advised the community to guide their esteemed cultural system jealously  and not allow the incursion of students into Malete town dislocate their rich cultures.

The Kwasu VC also enjoined members of the community to be very careful about the bad elements in the community and work effortlessly to ensure that moral  vices such as cultism, drug abuse, ‘yahoo yahoo’ and other related violent crimes that are common among the youth do not penetrate Malete town.

He explained that schools, especially  tertiary institutions, usually come with good and bad omen, and enjoined people of Malete to grab the good aspect of University which are socio-economic development and  quality education, just as he cautioned them against negative tendencies such as cultism, trape, robbery and several others.
