Kwara Govt, Federal Gov’t Synergise on Education Development

The Kwara State Government has aligned its efforts with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s education system for relevance, sustainability, and global competitiveness.

The state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, disclosed this on Thursday Auguatb7th 2025, at the 3rd KU8+ Consortium International Conference held at Kwara State University, Malete.
She explained that the state government is maximizing collaboration with federal initiatives to empower institutions and support innovation at all levels.
“We are proud to align our efforts with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has shown commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s education system for relevance, sustainability, and global competitiveness” she said.
According to her, the state government had invested heavily in the tertiary education sector through infrastructure development, system strengthening, digital inclusion, and policy reform.
Hajia Kawu noted that the Ministry of Tertiary Education would work with tertiary institutions to foster practical, home-grown research responsive to development needs.
The conference, which was themed “Innovation and Sustainability of Higher Education in a Changing World,” had in attendance esteemed Vice Chancellors from KU8+, policymakers, researchers, traditional rulers and intellectuals to discuss pressing issues in the education sector.
