The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has begun plans to collaborate with Bournemouth University, United Kingdom, in the areas of research, joint funding, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This potential partnership was discussed during a meeting between the KWASU Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, and Dr. Festus Adedoyin, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computing and Informatics, Bournemouth University, United Kingdom.
KWASU’s Vice Chancellor expressed optimism about the collaboration with Bournemouth University, anticipating numerous opportunities for both institutions.
He highlighted KWASU’s existing focus on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, citing the establishment of the Centre for International Education, Centre for Digital Economy, and Centre for AI by the University.
According to him, these initiatives demonstrate the University’s commitment to staying current with global trends in technology and education.
Dr. Adedoyin, who is a Data Analytics Pathway Leader, expressed confidence that the partnership would yield fruitful results for both institutions.
As an AI lecturer at Bournemouth University, UK, he highlighted numerous opportunities arising from the collaboration, including joint research, joint funding, and many other benefits.
Dr. Festus Adedoyin arrived in Nigeria on Monday, April 7, 2025, to deliver a lecture at the maiden Postgraduate Colloquium on Artificial Intelligence.
The event, organized by KWASU’s Department of Economics and Development Studies, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
