… rolls out 2025 programmes
The President, Ilorin Likeminds Foundation, Alhaji Said Alakoso has assured Kwarans particularly the Ilorin emirate that the foundation would continue to design programmes and projects that will touch lives of the people positively.
Alakoso gave the assurance in his remark at the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the foundation held at House 12, Onikanga area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital
The President of the association also convened the message of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR to the gathering said ” The Emir is impressed by the caliber of members of Ilorin Likeminds Foundation as well as the mission and vision of the association.
According to him, aside from Emir’s commendation and recommendation, the beneficiaries of our different people-oriented programmes, particularly the annual Ramadan food support, have also been acknowledged by all and sundry.
The President of the association, who attributed the achievements recorded by the association to the understanding and commitment of all the members of the association, appreciated them for speaking with one voice towards putting smiles on the faces of the people.
“I thank you all for all what you have done . However, we need more funds to be able to impact more and touch more lives positively ” Alakoso implored.
He charged members to continue to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the foundation to ensure that more people benefit tremendously from the Ilorin Likeminds Foundation.
Alakoso also commended those members that could not attend the event physically,but joined the meeting virtually.
He announced that, there would be need for the association to have official platform where only issues concerning Ilorin Likeminds Foundation are going to be discussed.
The Secretary of the association, Professor Adam Kayode of the University of Ilorin, highlighted some of the proposed programmes and projects of the foundation at the occasion.
Prof. Adam revealed that the programmes include the construction of pavilions at some strategic areas in Ilorin, Ramadan support for the faithful and less privileged Muslims and scholarships for Ilorin indigenes in tertiary institutions.
The association also proposed to communicate to the relevant authority to release the land presently occupying the Oke Kura Prison yard in Ilorin since the permanent site of the prison has been put in place at Mandala, Alapa area.
“The Oke Kura land should be used for a project that will bring more development to Ilorin and add value to the lives of the people.
Dr Garuba Manjo of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin; Professor Abdullateef Bako of University of Abuja; Alhaji Muhammed Abdulkadri the media Adviser to DG NILDS, Abuja, among other distinguished members of the association offered suitable suggestions at the meeting.
