39th Convocation: UNILORIN Graduates 12,042, Produces 256 First Class

A total of 12,042 students of the university of Ilorin have graduated with various degrees from the University.

The Vice-chancellor of the university of Ilorin, Professor Abdulwahab Egbewole made this known on Thursday (October 17, 2024) at the press briefing of the UNILORIN 39th Convocation Ceremony held  at the university’s  auditorium.

According to the Vice-chancellor, a total of 256  students bagged  First Class honours, 3842 students clinched Second Class (Upper Division), 6,178 students got Second Class (Lower Division), 1,299 have Third Class while the total of  62 students are in Pass category. 

The Vice-chancellor said the convocation ceremonies will also include award of degree to 124 MB;BS Graduands, 64 Nursing Graduands, 35 Optometry graduands, 30 Veterinary Medicine graduands, and 18 Graduands with Distinction and 85 Graduands with Pass in Pharmacy, 1 distinction and 32 Pass in Physiotherapy. 

He also explained that the institution will graduate 16 Diploma degree holders, 1,875 Higher Degrees, 92 Postgraduate Diplomas, 1,280 Masters Degree, 179 Professional Masters, 1 MPhil and 323 Ph.Ds.

The Vice-chancellor who mentioned that the university would continue to be the most sought after University in Nigeria also announced some of the projects that will be commissioned as part of activities marking the 39th Convocationceremonies.

Among the projects announced by the Vice-chancellor include the Faculty of Law Library, Faculty of Law Professorial Suite, Faculty of Law Moot Court, Home Economics and Food Science Building, Asphalt Overlay on the Existing Road Surface from entrance gate to Senate building Roundabout (Phase III)

Other projects to be commissioned include Solar Street Light from University Gate to Senate Building, Solar Street light from Senate Building to Student Hostels, Abuja Liaison Office Guest House among others.
