Ilorin LikeMinds Foundation tasks Nigeria Government on security

The President, Ilorin LikeMinds Foundation, Alhaji Saheed Alakoso has called on Nigeria Government prioritise adequate security and safety of citizens and their properties so as to have a more peaceful and prosperous nation.

Alakoso disclosed that the Ilorin LikeMinds Foundation has recorded tremendous achievements in the management of resources of the members  and the less privileged people in the society.

Saheed made this known while speaking at the  annual dinner of the  Ilorin Likeminds Foundation, held at the G Pinnacle Signature Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State.

He hinted that the foundation had empowered reasonable number of youth on Information Communication Technology (ICT), donated foods and other items to faithful Muslims during Ramadan among other gesture.

He added that the goals and objectives of establishing the association have been achieved. ” Part of it is what you are seeing this night. Our children married one another because the issue of getting right partners is a serious challenge in our society today”.

He promised that the association will continue to come up with programmes that will address some of the societal  problems.

He also said the association had chosen Security as a topic of the lecture for the dinner because of the lingering problem of insecurity facing Nigeria.

The Ilorin LikeMinds Foundation President however attributed the increase in food prices and other challenges to insecurity.

He noted that many farmers couldn’t go to their farms because they are afraid of being kidnapped or killed by criminals.

He therefore appealed to the government at all levels to handle issue of insecurity with utmost attention.

Also speaking at the event, the Vice President of the Foundation, Alhaji Lookman Atanda expressed appreciation to all those that have extended  donations and other assistance to the foundation.

Atanda informed that the foundation was established to address some of the challenges facing by members of the society.

He also noted that all the activities of the Ilorin LikeMinds Foundation have received commendations and pass mark.

In his remark at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, stressed the importance of local dialect to the overall development of children.

He therefore advised parents to communicate with their little children in local dialect at homes.

He said communicating with children in local dialect will help them to become familiar with their history and the entire way of life of their communities.

He commended members of  Ilorin Likeminds Foundation for identifying and promoting the old tradition and culture of Ilorin Emirate .

He noted that the foundation had demonstrated love for Ilorin Emirate by promoting and inculcating the Ilorin tradition in their children.

The occasion was attended by members of the association and their children, and other distinguished invited guests.
