The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), University of Ilorin Chapel, has congratulated the Director of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs of the institution, Mr. Kunle Akogun, for his well-deserved recognition with the prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Public Relations in the Corporate Governance category conferred on him by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Mr. Akogun’s acknowledgment stood out as a major highlight during the National Spokespersons’ Award ceremony, held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, last Wednesday, (March 27, 2024).
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of NUJ University of Ilorin Chapel, Mr. Tajudeen Babamale, and the Secretary, Mr. Isaac Lewu, the union expressed their joy in Mr. Akogun’s achievement, saying that, it was a fitting acknowledgment.
The NUJ leadership described Mr. Akogun as a prolific writer, astute communicator, and a compassionate leader who always prioritizes the well-being of his team.
The NUJ leaders also extended their congratulations to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, as well as the university’s principal officers, staff, and students, acknowledging their collective efforts in maintaining the institution’s esteemed status.
They highlighted the recent recognition of the University of Ilorin as the most outstanding university in Nigeria, indicating that Mr. Akogun’s achievement reflects the university’s commitment to excellence across all spheres.
The union celebrated all staff members of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs for their dedication and encouraged them to continue being exemplary advocates for the University of Ilorin.
