He was an educator, technocrat, and administrator. First editor of Adult Education in Nigeria, Chairman Kwara state Civil Service Commission, Director of Administration Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructures (DFRRI), Director National University Commission, member of governing council of Ahmadu Bello University and University of Calabar, and pioneering Registrar of the Open University,
The late Alhaji Erubu had been buried on Sunday (March 10, 2024), in accordance with Islamic rites at his ancestral residence Erubu Compound, Erubu Quarters, Ilorin.
