Hajj 2024: NAHCON boss seeks good working relationship with AHUON

…urges AHUON to enroll in HIN for optimal understanding of Hajj

The Ag. Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, OON, fwc, has called for effective partnership between the commission and association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHOUN) to ensure that Pilgrims get value for their money.

The Chairman, in a statement signed by the NAHCON Deputy Director of Information and Publications,  Alhaji Mousa Ubandawaki, made the call  at the weekend while speaking at a seminar organized by AHUON held at the Immaculate Hotel, Abuja.

The Chairman who was the special guest at the occasion,  commended the leadership of the AHUON for deeming it fit to  organize such an auspicious and result-oriented  training session on Hajj 2024 for their members, describing the initiative as timely and worthwhile. 


Represented by Alhaji Alidu Shittu, Director, Inspectorate and Compliance, the Chairman underscored the effort of the organizers in putting up the training with a view to equipping  their members with adequate knowledge on new development in Hajj operations.

The NAHCON boss  however appealed to AHUON members to enroll in the Commission’s newly established Hajj Institute of Nigeria (HIN) for professional studies and development. 

“Mr. President, I want to urge you and your members to avail yourself series of trainings being organized by the Hajj Institute of Nigeria in order to bring their members up to speed and abreast of the current happenings in the Hajj industry. It may interest you to note that top management staff of the Commission just graduated from the Institute with Certificate in Strategic Management of Hajj & Umrah” he said. 

He also hinted  that the Commission would soon embark on grassroots mobilization of Pilgrims for 2024 Hajj, using local languages to reach our intending Pilgrims. “

“Local Radio stations across the country will be utilized in this regard because the hand of clock is ticking towards the dead line fixed by Saudi Ministry of Hajj

He assured that the Commission will leave no stone unturned to make 2024 Hajj operation a huge success, adding that AHUON’s continued co-operation, support and prayers will assist in this regard. 

He expressed appreciation to the association for their time and resources deployed into Hajj and Umrah management and the golden opportunity given to him as the Special guest of honor.
