Hajj 2023: Kwara pilgrims receive N184m refund

 

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrimage Welfare Board, has  commenced the refund of N80,000 each to 2, 300 pilgrims that participated in the 2023 Hajj exercise through the state board.


The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had earlier approved the sum of N184 million refund for 2,300 pilgrims who performed the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

The approved fund was meant  to refund the excess payments made by the 2,300 pilgrims that paid the sum of N3 million as Hajj fare for the 2023 Hajj exercise. 

The beneficiaries who cut across the 16 local government areas in the state also include Kwarans and non-Kwarans.

The Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, in a statement in Ilorin, commended the state government for the timely release of the money.

He advised all the concerned pilgrims to come with original receipts for the collection of their N80,000 refund.

The Executive Secretary further disclosed that the payment of the refund which commenced on Monday, September 11, would continue until all the affected 2, 300 pilgrims are dully refunded.
