Super falcons beat co-hosts in women’s World Cup


The Super Falcons of Nigeria has secured an astonishing win earlier today over Australia the co-hosts of the on going FIFA women’s World Cup with New Zealand.


The Super Falcons came from behind to level up with Australia which scored its first goal just before the half-time whistle with a goal from Uchenna Kanu who netted an accurate pass from her team mate five minutes into the second half as a product of a set piece.


The Super Falcons found the net the second time through Osinachi Ohale who ensured that she guided a goal attempt by her team mates into the net on the 64th minute following a coner kick.


On the 72nd minute of the pulsating encounter, African Footballer of the year in the women’s category, Asisat Oshoala who came in as a substitute registered why she is the best African female footballer once again by capitalising on a defensive error to break the heart of Australians into a thousand irredeemable pieces by shooting into the net from an impossible angle for the average footballer, male or female.


The hosts fought hard to claim a point from the game but could only manage a consolation goal in the 100th minute of the pulsating andprolonged match but the Falcons pocketed the maximum 3 points.


The Super Falcons now have a final group game at hand against Republic of Ireland and share four points with Canada at the top of the table given the draw they played against Canada in their opening game.
