The US Connect, a group of intellectuals and Health practitioners in Nursing Sciences who are based in America has donated a set of Nursing Textbooks to the Kwara State School of Nursing, Ilorin.
Receiving the books from the donor on behalf of the college, the outgoing Provost of the College, Alhaji Imam Abubakar Ayinla said the gesture was meant to further promote learning processes and improve quality of education and health care awareness among Nursing students.
Alh Ayinla according to a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Haiia Mansurat Amuda-kannike, commended the group for the insight and aspiration towards promoting qualitative Service delivery in Nursing Education in Nigeria as well as an indirect strive towards community development.
The outgoing Provost stated that the books would be of tremendous use to the Students and School because they are mostly centered on Nursing related knowledge and would be helpful in Students research work.
He also mentioned that the donation of set of laptop computers and other modern telecommunication devices are in the pipeline to assist us in building an E-Library.
Having appreciated the Donors, the Provost added that the textbook will be of tremendous help to us as they are well up to date and concise towards teaching pragmatic and theoretical approaches to nursing profession adding that the books would be utilised and judiciously put to productive use.
He also appreciated the efforts of the State Commissioner for Tertiary Education Dr Alabi Afees Abolore for his untiring support and Commitment at ensuring qualitative progress for the School.
The Outgoing Provost also commended the support and Cooperation of the Chairman Governing Council Hajia Salami Falilat Funmilayo, adding that her attributes are worthy of emulation.
