Alaka and Dr Alimi
The Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq has said the electoral victory recorded by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq was a great honour to the family of late AGF AbdulRazaq, just as he admonished people of the state to continue to pray for Governor to meet their expectations.
Dr AbdulRazaq, who is the elder brother of the Governor disclosed this on Tuesday (March 21, 2023) disclosed this during the victory celebration organised in his honour at the family residence of the late AGF Surulere Ilorin, the kwara state capital.
The late AGF, father of the incubent governor was the first lawyer in the northern Nigeria and first Mutawali of Ilorin, a title now confered on his eldest son , Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq by the emir of Ilorn, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari in 2022.
The victory celebration was at the instance of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Moshood Alaka.
Alimi who spoke through a close ally of the governor, Dr Gali Alaaya, said the Governor recorded success during the first tenure of his administration because Kwarans demonstrated the love they have for the late AGF’s family to his administration.
He described the re-election of Governor AbdulRazaq and electoral victory of all APC candidates in the state as a manifestation of the current administration’s giant strides in good governance and good quality leadership style.
Dr AbdulRazaq therefore sought for unalloyed support and cooperation of the people of the state, so as to enable the Governor achieve his set goals of transforming the state to an enviable standard.
Earlier in his address, the convener of the get-together, Mashood Alaka said the APC recorded a landslide victory in the poll due to the imense achievements recorded by the governor in all sectors prompting the electorate to participate in a “decision that set Kwara free from unsympathetic leaders”.
“The victory has come from all of us because we have consolidated our efforts and strength to return gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for another four 4 years in Office.
“Our Government will also build on this trust to give equitable opportunities to all Kwarans irrespective of our ideologies, family backgrounds, or political affiliation.This is what we want and have seen as Kwarans that’s giving our party the success we have recorded in this administration”, he said.
Alaka was confident that re-election of Governor Abdulrazaq would witness more spectacular achievements for the growth and development of the state.
The event was attended by bigwigs in the state among them included the Deputy Governor of Kwara state, Mr Kayode Alabi, cabinet members and new members-elect of the Kwara state house of assembly, state APC chairman Price Sunday Fagbemi, women groups, APC supporters and admirers to mention but few.
