Not less than 50 indigent pupils picked from six selected Primary Schools in Ilorin metropolis, the Kwara State Capital, have benefitted from the termly scholarship awards of Bazarab Educational Foundation (BEF).
All the benefiting pupils were presented with cash donations to cushion the effect of the current economic reality being experienced in the country.
In addition, eight pupils with torn and tattered uniforms were also presented with new school uniforms while their Parent Teacher Association fees were also paid.
The beneficiaries were drawn six schools which include ; Sholagberu Primary, Anasarul Islam Oke Aluko, Babako Primary School, Pake LGEAS, Pakata Oke-Ebo Primary School and St William Primary School, Taiwo Isale.
Presenting the cash and uniforms to the beneficiaries at various schools, the founder of BEF, Dr (Mrs) Zainab Bolajoko Balogun, explained that the gesture was borne out of the foundation’s cardinal objectives of providing succour to the vulnerable people in the society.
Balogun said the scholarship is one of the various humanitarian services being provided by the foundation in order to impact positively on the lives of the less privileged in the society.
Dr Balogun who is also a Director at the Kwara State Ministry of Education stated further that the gesture was also to commplement the state Government’s efforts in making sure that every child has access to sound and qualitative education in the state.
She explained that her foundation had been involving in termly intervention in schools across the state several years back.
Balogun therefore called on parents and guardians to attached utmost priority to education of their children and wards, pointing out that the best legacy a reasonable and responsive parent will bequeath his or her children is sound education.
